Meet the Makers
Mary Mackin- Owner/ Instructor
Mary is a passionate artist and instructor who has been teaching art for more than two years. With a degree in Art History from BYU and time spent studying art in Paris, she brings both a strong creative background and a love of art history into everything she teaches.
A mom of four, Mary has a natural ability to connect with kids and adults alike. Her eye for design, thoughtful approach to instruction, and enthusiasm for helping others create make her an important part of Poppy House.
She believes art should feel inspiring, approachable, and fun, and loves helping students build confidence while making something they’re proud of.
Sara Walk- Owner/ Instructor
Sara is a passionate artist, educator, and creative with a lifelong love of art and design. With experience as an elementary art teacher and years spent sharing creative projects as a blogger, her work has been featured in magazines and has reached a wide creative community.
A mom of three boys, she brings warmth, energy, and a playful approach to everything she creates. Her travels around the world have also shaped her artistic perspective and deepened her appreciation for color, culture, design, and creativity in everyday life.
At Poppy House, she loves helping both kids and adults feel comfortable creating, trying new things, and finding joy in the process of making art.
